RAD logo

Our October RAD Class is now full!  Please email Officer Angela Caddy to be added to our wait list for the next class.  Thank you!

Niles City Police Department and Michigan State police are jointly offering a Basic Physical Self-Defense class for women. R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) Systems of Self Defense is dedicated to teaching women defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault by utilizing easy, effective and proven self-defense/martial arts tactics. This system of realistic defense will provide a woman with the knowledge to make an educated decision about resistance. We operate on the premise that a spontaneous violent attack will stimulate a natural desire to resist on the part of the victim (supported by research). We educate women about "The Fight or Flight Syndrome" while showing them that enhancing their option of physical defense is not only prudent, but a necessity if natural resistance is to be effective. Safety and survival in today's world require a definite course of action and escape. We provide effective options by teaching women to take an active role in their own self-defense and psychological well-being.

This 12-hour (Only Females age 13 and up) course is broken down into 4 easy-to-learn classes for any age or skill level. Classes will be held at the Niles City Fire Station Complex located at 1345 E. Main Street in Niles, MI.
