Riverfront Amphitheater Use

Amphitheater

Did you know that the amphitheater in our beautiful Riverfront Park is available for rent to groups or individuals?  What a perfect place to hold a wedding or maybe, a very special birthday celebration.  Rules and regulations for rental of the facility were developed by the City of Niles Parks and Recreation Board and approved by the City Council in 1999.  Those rules and requirements were updated in the form of a Riverfront Amphitheater ordinance.
Applications for rental and bookings are processed through the office of the City Clerk.  What better place to enjoy your special day than along the St. Joseph River in downtown Niles.  The Victorian style amphitheater was constructed in 1995 as part of the Riverfront Park Improvement plan to provide the citizens of Niles with a community recreation structure and serve as a focal point for the downtown area.  A combination of State of Michigan grants, city funds, private donations and fund-raising campaigns were used to fund the construction of this building.  In recent years the structure has been reserved for community events such as Riverfest, church services, and lip sync contests.

The Wednesday night concerts at the amphitheater have been in existence for more than 10 years and now the Summer Concert season also includes Thursday and Sundays too.  The summer will be filled with music from the Riverfront Park Amphitheater.  Please plan to attend any of the community functions that will be held at the amphitheater or reserve the facility along the St. Joseph River in downtown Niles for your special day.  Please call the City Clerk ’s office at 269-683-4700 Ext. 3030 if you have any questions or to book your group's or family's special day.
